When he’s not traveling the globe with client Katy Perry - Mr. Johnny Wujek is creatively consulting on his roster of other clients. With a passion for photography (and outlandish get ups) - it is Wujek himself who has made Ms. Katy Perry recognized for her playful, humors, and often provocative sense of style. Recently returning from the Paris shows - Wujek, who is all about pushing the limits, spoke about a good Charles Dickens moment, the “midwest” in him, and his cardigan collection.

Your client Katy Perry is definitely recognized for her inventive and  sometimes humorous fashion choices. On November 4th she will be hosting the 2009 European Video Music Awards. With many wardrobe changes lined up -  can you provide a sneak peek of what can we expect from Ms. Perry’s ensembles?

I think the awards are November 5th from what I heard. And no way. I cannot sneak peek anything for the EMA’s .Katy and I love our surprises and reveals. You’ll just have to wait.

What is your most memorable styling gig to date? Any shoots that really stand out in your mind?

Styling the super models. Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Giselle… They’re to me, what movies stars are to my sister who lives in the mid-west. I get silly around them. They’re super human. I enjoy every gig with KP as well. Always so fun and exciting. We create all the goodies and love to make people smile. The EMA’s in Liverpool with Katy were amazing.  We did 13 costume changes. Running all over the stadium like wild chickens…sooo fun.

What are 5 items you think every guy should have in their closet?

1.  A tailored blk suit
2. A pair of nikes
3. Gingham
4. Clean undies
5. Go to jeans

Based in LA but frequently traveling - what city would you most associate with your personal style?

London meets Wyoming. I love a good Charles Dickens moment, paired up with a flannel and some boots. I guess it’s the midwest inside of me.

How would you define your personal style?

I’m casual for the most part. Jeans and tank tops. I collect Cardigans, and in a perfect world I could wear slippers everyday. Wait. I pretty much do wear slippers every day.

You also just returned home from Paris Fashion Week. What were some of the highlights?

All the shows we attending were pretty epic. John Galliano show closed Fashion Week for us, and it put both Katy and I in a tizzy. We loved every piece, and the presentation. I had goose bumps the whole time. Chanel was pretty amazing as well. Our hotel in paris was pure opulence. Katy’s the best host on the planet. The weather in paris was perfection. Rain, sun, gloom, all the elements. Driving a smart car through the streets of paris was also pretty amazing. Scary as hell, but amazing. CUTE boys everywhere in Paris. I think I ran into like 10 fire hydrants, 3 garbage cans and 5 brick walls, while starring at the beautiful boys in Paris. Dancing at the fendi party. The stampede outside of Louis vuitton. (Another amazing show). Not sleeping at all.
The Jeremy Kost photo exhibit was chic and amazing. And while we were there, we shot the promos for the EMA’s this year with Katy. Just wait and see. Soo good. God soo much fun. What a trip.

You have a shoe line in the works titled JOHNNY WUJEK. What can we expect from this collection?

A little bit for everyone. I have a hard time holding back. I love over the top. But this collection will be the best of both worlds. For the everyday women and the girls that like to step it up…No pun intended. No that was totally intended.

Besides Fashion and Styling - you have a passion (and subsequent skill) for photography. Was this something you were always interested in?

Yes, forever and always, since I was a little kid. It was cameras, polaroids. Everything.This is something I’m going to go after full force. I love it.

What are your favorite subjects to shoot?

When I was a kid, It was fire hydrants. All over the country. Now of course I’ve moved onto fashion, portraits, landscapes.
I like to incorporate surrounds into the photo with fashion. A whole composition. Although there is the occasional fire hydrant photo. Be on the look out. I hope to have some goodies published soon.

What music are you currently listening to?

A lot of POP. I can’t help it.

I cant live without…?

Fashion magazines.

Proudest accomplishment to date?
Surviving in LA for 10 years and still knowing who I am.

In your down time, if you ever actually manage to get any, what do you get up to?

Movies, dinners, travel, sleep, I love a good CD mix. If I ever have time - I make them for my friends.
