EVERYDAY WORKSHOP

I recently stumbled upon Everyday Workshop, a New York City based creative studio that specialized in 3 distinct areas: art direction, styling, and graphic design. While their client list is impressive (Mercedes, Tanqueray 10 etc…) their work really takes the prize. With a commitment to “ideas, collaborations, and values” – Everyday Workshop really is engaging visual communications that are both memorable and impressionable.

And with their highly useful blog (it’s actually more editorial based then a blog) – they really are in-tune to the media realms of our generation. Everything from publishing to art – they cover it all.

Definitely The Malcolm endorsed!

Leave it to the creative team at Starworks to produce yet another great digital short for The New York Times. This time, Aurel Schmidt lets us into her Avenue A apartment as she fills her suitcase and heads to Miami for Art Basel. Produced by one of my mentors Jauretsi, it’s definitely worthwhile to listen to her speak about good luck charms and thankfully finding “that camera”.

Check it out here.

Recently, ABSOLUT unveiled their new, limited-edition bottle titled ABSOLUT Vancouver, designed to embody Vancouver and support its local arts community. Helmed by local illustrator and graphic artist Dougals Fraser, up to $120,000.000 from the bottles proceeds will go towards a new Vancouver based arts initiative. The bottles design, created to reflect the uniqueness of Vancouver, features a bold, yellow and blue seaplane soaring above Vancouver’s skyline. ABSOLUT Vancouver is the first Canadian city to join the brands exclusive city-themed bottle portfolio, following in the steps of ABSOLUT New Orleans (2007), ABSOLUT Los Angeles (2008) and ABSOLUT Boston (2009).

“Vancouver was a natural choice for ABSOLUT’s next city-themed bottle,” said Kelly Kretz, Senior Brand Manager for ABSOLUT vodka. “In addition to being globally recognized as an exciting, cosmopolitan and naturally stunning Canadian city, Vancouver is a hotbed of cultural and creative talent, which ABSOLUT is very proud to support.”

ABSOLUT Vancouver retails for $25.95 and is available exclusively in British Columbia.

Here’s an exclusive sneak peek of Claudia Wu’s brainchild ME MAGAZINE. ME MAGAZINE is an independent publication where each issue is edited and explored by a guest editor and their circle of friends. Founded in 2004, Wu has since had everyone from Nate Lowman to the Rodarte girls implement their ideas into the creation of a publication. With issue 18 slated to debut December 15th, Wu has enlisted Melia Marden to lend her creativity. As chef of The Smile (and daughter of Brice and sister of Mirabelle), I can’t wait to see what she will put forward.
